CEPI announces that Jori Ringman has unanimously been appointed by the CEPI Board as successor to Sylvain Lhôte at the helm of the Brussels-based organisation.

The secretariat of CEPI has the great regret to inform you about the sudden and unexpected death of our Director General, Sylvain Lhôte.

The paper and board manufacturing industry, as well as converting sectors including the tissue industry publish today the completely rewritten voluntary ‘Food Contact Guidelines for the Compliance of Paper and Board Materials and Articles’.

Since the EU Forest Strategy was adopted in 2013, the EU policy framework and the EU policies affecting forests have strongly evolved. It is now more broadly recognized that forests and the forest sector play a crucial role in addressing major challenges in line with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals and the climate change mitigation goals of the Paris Agreement.

Clarifications on CEPI's position on the separate collection of paper and board from residual waste and other recyclables, as well as the collection and recyclability of paper products that are multi-layered or have been in contact with wood.

It is of utmost importance to overcome misconceptions and misunderstandings concerning the bioeconomy. Ensuring the rapid availability of undisputable data and facts on the expected environmental, climate, social and economic benefits of the bioeconomy and bio-based products, is a must in order to raise awareness and promote the bioeconomy across Europe’s society at large.

Paper and Board industry helps demonstrate safety of its materials in food contact applications in the new Food Contact Guidelines.
